The Toast Who Wanted to Fly In the colorful town of Bumblepop, everyone had a special talent. The apples could juggle, the milk cartons sang opera, and the spoons did synchronized swimming in the sink. Everyone… except Toby the Toast. Toby was warm, golden, and very average. Every morning he popped out of the toaster and sighed. “I don’t want to be eaten,” he said. “I want to fly.” The other breakfasts laughed. “Toast can’t fly!” said the Bacon Brothers, flexing dramatically. But Toby didn’t give up. He taped paper wings to his crust. He jumped off the counter. Plop. Jam everywhere. Then one morning, his best friend Buttercup the Butter had an idea. “What if you don’t fly alone?” she said. They waited until the kitchen window was open. A breeze rushed in. Buttercup melted just a little, making Toby extra slippery. Suddenly—WHOOSH!—a gust lifted Toby right off the plate! Toby soared past the sink, looped around the fridge, and gently crash-landed in a bowl of cereal. The kitchen went silent. Then everyone cheered. From that day on, Toby didn’t need to fly anymore.
